2016 was no day at the beach so what better way to ring in 2017 than by doing just that? Virgin Islands EcoTours has the low-down on all the best beaches to visit on New Year’s Day to relax, unwind, and have some fun!

St. Thomas

If you’re on St. Thomas, Magens Bay is one of the most popular and picturesque beaches in USVI. The peninsulas protect the shore from erosion and big waves, making the calm waters an ideal spot for swimmers. This beach does have an entry fee ($4), which is used to maintain the facilities. Magen’s Bay is particularly beautiful because of the rolling mountains that seem to unfurl right down to the beach. It’s perfect for snorkeling but does get crowded, as it is a popular stop for cruise ships. But when it comes to celebrating the New Year, the more the merrier!

St. John

If you’re looking for a beach on St. John, Honeymoon Beach at Caneel Bay is our favorite spot on the island. This beach is infamous for its beauty and serenity with crystal-clear waters that are great for swimming and snorkeling.
