Solo Travel in the Virgin Islands

We are living in interesting times that have forced us all to shift how we interact with one another and the world around us.

Social distancing is important to respect for the greater health of our community. Spending time in isolation, however, can be hard on your psyche.

One way to uplift your mood while still upholding the recommendations of social distancing is to spend some time in nature.

We are fortunate to have wide open spaces available for us all to enjoy here in the Virgin Islands. We’d love to help you explore the natural world around you, outside in the fresh air.

We’re happy to share that we still have equipment rentals available to you during these times, to allow you to explore on your own. This includes all kayaks (single & double), stand-up paddle boards, floats, and snorkel gear – on both St. Thomas and St. John.

Come lose yourself for the day, exploring the lagoon or surrounding beaches, and never see another soul. Also – all SUP and kayaks come with snorkel gear included.

All of our equipment is thoroughly sanitized in between uses and we are observing every recommended safety measure as a team.

You can even book your rentals without coming into contact with anyone else. To do so, simply reserve your rentals online and we’ll have your gear set-up and waiting for you either in the Mangrove Lagoon on St. Thomas or on Honeymoon Beach on St. John. Just grab your gear and head out to explore.

We hope this helps to keep everyone’s spirits up – both locals and visitors alike. We’re all in this together – let’s continue to appreciate the beauty of the Virgin Islands while keeping the spread of COVID-19 at bay.

What was that?! USVI Underwater Mysteries, Solved.

If you’ve ever been snorkeling here in the US Virgin Islands, you got to be surrounded by an abundant array of marine life. We’re fortunate to have thriving reefs with a high diversity of living things. However, if you didn’t go with a guide , you likely may have missed some things and/or seen some things that stumped you. We have a lot of things in the water here that may not be identifiable at first glance, which is what makes going on a guided snorkel tour so much fun. We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again—even if you’ve been snorkeling here many times, you can always get some value out of going out with a guide. Our local guides know these waters intricately and have a deep knowledge and passion for the USVI marine environment. Joining them for a snorkel tour (and yes, you can set up a private tour , if you prefer!) means you can get all of your questions answered, learn some cool facts, and have things pointed out to you that you may miss on your own. Here are a couple of things underwater that you might have seen and thought, “What on earth was that thing?!”
