A bunch of yellow kayaks are sitting on a dock

Do you know what’s one of the things we hear the most from our guests who join us on one of our Mangrove Lagoon tours?

They’re SO GLAD they took time during their stay on St. Thomas to explore beyond the beach.

A man is paddling a yellow ocean kayak

The same goes for those who reside in the USVI. They’re always shocked it took them so long to venture into this incredible part of St. Thomas.

So the big question is: What are YOU waiting for?

Whether you’re on St. Thomas for vacation, or are a Virgin Islands local, there are plenty of ways to have an adventure in the mangroves. You can rent a kayak or stand-up paddle board along with snorkel gear to head out on your own, or you can join us for a guided tour.

Our Cas Cay Kayak + Hike + Snorkel tour is our most popular tour, and is a great place to start.

ABOUT THE TOUR

Paddle through winding waterways in the unique Mangrove Lagoon as you head out to the secluded and shallow turquoise waters of Cas Cay. Here you’ll see an array of colorful reef fish in their aquatic playground, spot Caribbean birds overhead, and explore the subtropical forest teeming with hermit crabs. Your guide will lead you on a leisurely hike to the volcanic tidal pool cliffs, home of the famous Red Point Blow Hole, where a can’t-miss photo opportunity awaits. Afterwards, you’ll kayak back to our home base and can finish your day with a fresh meal in the mangroves at Bikinis Dockside Bar and Grill.

MAKE A NIGHT OF IT

This season has been our first one in the USVI that we’ve been fortunate to have a retail shop located in the gorgeous, historic outdoor shopping space of Mongoose Junction. We’re located just behind Sun Dog Cafe, and our shop is where you check-in for your guided nature tours with us, as well as pick-up & drop off your rented water sports gear. The north shore of St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands is one of those rare places that manages to feel both untouched and well-known. Stretching along the island’s Caribbean-facing coastline, this region is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful in the world—and it’s easy to see why. You can’t visit St. John without spending time on it. In fact, it’s probably the most popular reason why people visit St. John. ( Who among us hasn’t been lured into STJ dreaming by one of those iconic photos of Trunk Bay? ) However, there is so much to see and experience along the north shore. You likely will not be able to do it all on your first trip here. Here’s what to know about the north shore of St. John:
