While sightings are never guaranteed, we often snorkel in areas where sea turtles, tropical fish, and coral reefs are frequently seen.
Where does the tour begin and what is the route?
You’ll check in at Virgin Islands Ecotours’ Outfitter Store in Mongoose Junction, Cruz Bay. After receiving your gear, you’ll walk to the beach to begin your paddle. The route typically includes kayaking along the scenic north shore of Virgin Islands National Park to Scott Beach for sea turtle snorkeling, then paddling to Honeymoon Beach to snorkel and picnic. You may also snorkel at Solomon Beach before paddling back to Cruz Bay.
What’s included with this full-day kayak and snorkel tour in St. John?
The tour includes a sit-on-top ocean kayak with paddle and backrest, snorkel gear (mask, snorkel, fins, and life jacket), and a certified nature guide trained in CPR and First Aid. A picnic lunch is provided, along with bottled water throughout the day. Safety briefings and instruction are included to support paddlers of all experience levels.
What should I bring for the Best of St. John: Kayak, Snorkel & Picnic Adventure?
Wear a bathing suit and bring a reusable water bottle, along with reef-safe sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses for sun protection. Lightweight clothing that can get wet and a towel are also recommended. Water shoes or sandals with a heel strap are helpful for walking to and from the beach launch.
Are there facilities available before the tour?
Yes. Restrooms and dressing rooms are available at Mongoose Junction so you can change and prepare before the tour begins. We recommend arriving early to check in and get your gear fitted.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Safety is our top priority. If weather or sea conditions aren’t suitable, we may adjust the route or reschedule your tour. We’ll always choose the best and safest adventure for the day.
What is your cancellation policy?
Your booking is fully refundable if canceled at least 24 hours before your tour.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the tour start time or no-shows are non-refundable.
Tours operate rain or shine (with the exception of lightning). In the rare case that weather prevents us from running the tour, we will gladly provide a full refund.
Do you offer private tours?
Yes! You can now upgrade any eligible tour to a private experience for just a $99 flat fee. This “Private Tour Upgrade” can be selected during online checkout—just look for the Flat Fee – Private Tour Upgrade option when booking your tour. Private tours are available any day except Wednesdays.
