What is your cancellation policy?
Your payment is 100% refundable until 24 hours before the date and time your tour is due to depart. If you cancel your booking with less than 24 hours notice or fail to show up for your tour, then the full cost of the tour will be charged to the credit card used to guarantee your tour.
What is included in the price?
Included in your tour price:
- Snorkel and Mask
- Ocean kayak with backrest and paddle
- Dry bag or mesh bag for valuable
- Free lockers
- Water and/or Lemonade
- Candy bar snack
Full safety briefing, kayaking/paddling instruction, and snorkeling instruction are also included.
What will we see on the tour?
On our St. Thomas tours, you will kayak among the many small islands of the unique Inner Mangrove Lagoon. You may see a variety of birds such as brown pelicans, blue herons, night herons, egrets, yellow warblers and hummingbirds. While snorkeling you may see spotted eagle rays, turtles, pufferfish, octopus, lobster, stingrays, parrot fish and much more!
On our St. John tour, you will paddle over colorful coral reefs and hike through the pristine Virgin Islands National Park. You may see a variety of birds such as brown pelicans, blue herons, night herons, egrets, yellow warblers and hummingbirds. While snorkeling you may see spotted eagle rays, turtles, pufferfish, octopus, lobster, stingrays, parrot fish and much more!
What should we bring?
- Bathing suit
- Clothing that can get wet, hat, sunglasses etc. for sun protection
- Footwear that can get wet (watershoes or sandals)
- Gratuity for your guides
Can we bring our own snorkel gear?
Sure! Snorkel gear is included in your tour price but if you have your own or require a prescription mask you can bring it along. Please note that we do not wear fins on our tours because they can stir up sediment and reduce the water visibility.
Can we bring a camera?
You may bring a camera at your own risk. You will get wet the moment you sit in the kayak and there is no dry storage available. On many of our tours we will have a photographer accompany the group with an underwater housing to take pictures of you both above and below the water! The photo CDs are available for purchase after the tour.
I've never been kayaking before, can I still go?
Yes! We offer full kayaking instruction before the tour begins. We always have less than 10 guests for every guide so they can assist you during the tour as well.
I'm not an experienced snorkeler, can I still go?
Yes! We offer full snorkeling instruction. We also require that every person on the tour wear a coast guard approved Life Preserver during the kayaking and snorkeling portions of the tour.

Where is Virgin Islands Ecotours located?
Our main marina is located on the southeast side of St. Thomas.
From Town: Take route 30 East until it intersects with route 32 (also the Bridge to Nowhere/Esso Station), turn right -southeast- and we are located on the right side of the road. We have seven big blue banners that say "Kayak and Snorkel" We're the big green trailer with the mask and snorkel on the side.
From Red Hook: Head southwest on route 32 towards town, we are located on the left side of the road and have seven big blue banners that say "Kayak and Snorkel" We're the big green trailer with the mask and snorkel on the side.
For our St. John tour, you will meet your guide at the Watersports Activities Desk at the Caneel Bay Resort. The Watersports Activities Desk is located on the beach near the dock.
